If you have received a postcard from our service that you believe is harassing, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate, please follow the steps below:
1. Report the Content to Us
We provide a simple way to report misuse. Please email abuse@shipapostcard.com with a photo or scan of the postcard. This allows us to:
- Identify the sender in our internal systems.
- Permanently ban the user for violating our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Prevent further mailings to your address from that specific account.
You can also open a ticket at https://shipapostcard.com/support
By reporting abuse, you help us maintain a safe and respectful community for all users.
2. Legal Protections and Law Enforcement
Threatening Communications: Federal law prohibits the mailing of threats to injure your person, property, or reputation.
- Reporting to Authorities: If you feel you are in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
- Our Cooperation: Upon receiving a valid legal request (such as a subpoena), we will provide law enforcement with the sender's PII, including their name, email, and IP address, to facilitate their investigation.
3. Your Right to Privacy
We do not allow our services to be used to compromise the privacy of others or to facilitate harassment. We are committed to ensuring our tools are used safely and responsibly.
Important Notice for Recipients of Unwanted Mail
If you have received a postcard from our service that contains content you find harassing, threatening, or otherwise objectionable, we are here to help. While Ship a Postcard is a platform for creative expression, we have a zero-tolerance policy for the use of our tools for harassment or illegal activity.
Proactive Screening: Every postcard sent through our platform is screened by AI moderation systems to block violence, hate speech, and other prohibited content.
Human Reporting: Because automated systems may not catch every nuance (such as specific forms of harassment or defamation), we rely on our reporting mechanism at https://shipapostcard.com/abuse to take action against bad actors.
How to Report Abuse: Please email a clear photo or scan of both sides of the postcard to abuse@shipapostcard.com. This information is critical for us to identify the account responsible and take immediate action, which may include permanent account suspension.
Opting Out of Future Mailings: If you wish to never receive mail from our platform again, please include your physical address in your report, and we will add it to our permanent "Do Not Mail" registry.
